Question by Dashley Diaz: Can a nervous breakdown cause you to stop breathing?
The question is simple, i just want to know if a nervous (mental) breakdown can cause you to stop breathing?

No. My mom has had a few mental breakdowns but it hasn’t stopped her breathing. You just feel mega, mega down and depressed and don’t feel like anything. But it won’t stop breathing. Only if you choke yourself then it will.

Question by the sex: What is a nervous breakdown and what causes it?
And is it possible that because my mum has them a lot me and my sister might inherit them or summut. Summut ent right with my mental health.

It’s not really a medical term.
It’s just when things become too much to handle and a person falls apart for a bit. Some mental illnesses may be passed on and her problems probably heavily affect you. So check if she has any actual mental illnesses. If you’re going through the same trouble’s as her then you may have them. But it’s really up to you to examine your stress levels.
